KAW RIVER CAMP OUT

Come with us for a Kaw River Camp Out! We will check in at Lecompton Rising Sun River Access at 2pm on Friday July 29th to load the kayaks with our gear, then head to Lawrence to board the bus. We will be back in Lecompton to slide onto the river around 3:30pm. We will paddle a bit then set up our River Camp and eat some dinner around the fire. We will enjoy Saturday morning on the sandbar and paddle on around 10am to get out in Lawrence mid-day. This trip is about learning how to successfully pack, prepare and safely camp on the Kansas. We will teach you what you need to know to feel confident about future camping expeditions!

We will provide: All of your paddling equipment (kayak, paddle, life jacket), kayak loading and gear transportation, a gear list for the event, River Guide service, camp expertise, fire, coffee and s’mores, instant warm and clean water to wash your hands and face on the sandbar, instruction and support with river knowledge and camp set up, and a ride on the Dirty Girl Bus!

You will need: Your camping equipment (tent, sleeping gear, snacks, water, dinner (hot dogs or brats to cook over the fire are welcome) and breakfast

When: Friday July 29th 2pm check in to load gear through mid-day Saturday July 30th

Where: 2pm check in at Lecompton Rising Sun River Access – we will load gear then everyone will drive to Lawrence to leave our vehicles and board the bus at 3:15 ish
